Anahata (Heart) Chakra

The Anahata Chakra, or Heart Chakra, is the fourth energy center in the human body. Located at the center of the chest, this chakra governs love, compassion, forgiveness, and emotional balance. Balancing this chakra allows one to experience unconditional love and fosters deep connections with others and oneself.

The Anahata Chakra is referenced in ancient yogic scriptures as the bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. It is described as the seat of unconditional love and harmony. The Shiva Samhita highlights its significance.

The Bijakshar, or seed mantra, of the Anahata Chakra is YAM (यं). Chanting this mantra activates the Heart Chakra, enhancing feelings of love, compassion, and acceptance.

  • Frequency: The Anahata Chakra resonates at 639 Hz, which is known for fostering connection and harmony in relationships.
  • Element: Air, representing openness, movement, and emotional lightness.

The governing deity of the Anahata Chakra is Lord Vishnu, symbolizing preservation, balance, and compassion. Lord Vishnu’s energy inspires harmony and unconditional love.

The Anahata Chakra is represented by a twelve-petaled lotus. Each petal symbolizes qualities such as  love, compassion, empathy, understanding, kindness, patience, forgiveness, gratitude, joy, acceptance, peace, and harmony. At its center is a six-pointed star, representing balance and harmony. The chakra is associated with the color green, signifying renewal and healing.

  • Diet: Incorporate green foods such as spinach, broccoli, and green tea, tulsi (holy basil), coriander, bottle gourd, and avocado to nourish the heart.
  • Affirmations: Repeat affirmations like “I am loved,” “I forgive myself and others,” and “I live in harmony.”
  • Integration: Balance it with the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) for self-confidence and the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) for authentic expression.

The Anahata Chakra is the gateway to universal love, compassion, and spiritual awakening. By activating and balancing this chakra, one transcends ego-based emotions and connects deeply with the divine. A balanced Heart Chakra fosters harmony, paving the way toward Nirvana.
