Governing Communication, Self-Expression, and Truth

The Vishuddha Chakra, or Throat Chakra, is the fifth energy center in the human body. Located at the throat, it governs communication, self-expression, and truth. A balanced Vishuddha Chakra allows individuals to speak with clarity, confidence, and integrity, fostering authentic relationships and personal power.
Ancient Scriptural References
The Vishuddha Chakra is regarded in ancient yogic scriptures as the center of truth and purification. It represents the gateway between the heart and the mind.
As cited in Shiva Samhita, (Chapter 5, Verse 10) “वाचः शुद्धिः विषुद्धस्य स्वभावो हि सदा स्मृतः।” (Vācaḥ Śuddhiḥ Viśuddhasya Svabhāvo Hi Sadā Smṛtaḥ). Means, “Purity of speech is the innate nature of the Vishuddha Chakra.”
Bijakshar (Seed Mantra) हं (HAM)

The Bijakshar, or seed mantra, of the Vishuddha Chakra is HAM. Chanting this mantra activates the Throat Chakra, enhancing clarity of expression and truthful communication.
As cited in Shiva Samhita, (Chapter 3, Verse 22) “हं बीजं विषुद्धस्य।” (Haṁ Bījaṁ Viśuddhasya). Means, “HAM is the seed mantra of the Throat Chakra.”
Frequency (741 Hz) and Element (Ether)

- Frequency: The Vishuddha Chakra resonates at 741 Hz, known for fostering truth, clarity, and intuition.
- Element: Ether (Space), representing vastness, purity, and limitless expression.
As cited in Shiva Samhita, (Chapter 4, Verse 20) “आकाशो विषुद्धं धारयति।” (Ākāśo Viśuddhaṁ Dhārayati) Means, “Ether sustains the Throat Chakra.”
Governing Deity

The governing deity of the Vishuddha Chakra is Lord Shiva, symbolizing transformation, wisdom, and divine truth. Lord Shiva’s energy helps remove blockages, allowing one to communicate with purity and conviction.
As cited in Shiva Samhita, (Chapter 4, Verse 22) “शिवं कण्ठाधिष्ठितं भजे।” Means, “I bow to Shiva, the deity residing in the Throat Chakra.”
Shape, Structure, and Color

The Vishuddha Chakra is represented by a sixteen-petaled lotus. Each petal symbolizes a distinct aspect of communication, such as clarity, honesty, truthfulness, integrity, eloquence, confidence, persuasiveness, sincerity, patience, attentiveness, wisdom, self-awareness, authenticity, diplomacy, articulation, and respect. The chakra is associated with the color blue, signifying wisdom and purity.
As cited in Shiva Samhita, (Chapter 4, Verse 24) “षोडशपत्रं नीलं विषुद्धं च।” (Ṣoḍaśapatraṁ Nīlaṁ Viśuddhaṁ Ca). Means, “The Throat Chakra is a sixteen-petaled lotus, blue in color.”
